Tick Talk with Back Bay Vet

In February, Zippy suddenly started walking very, very slowly & with obvious stiffness.  I took him right over to our friends at Back Bay Vet for tests, and it turns out he had Erhlichia, a tick-borne bacterial infection that can cause arthritis-like symptoms.  I was shocked; it had been a cold winter and there was snow on the ground…not exactly what you’d think of as tick season.  So I asked Back Bay Vet if we could host them for a Tick Talk to share information we all need to know about ticks and tick-borne illnesses.  Please join us on Tuesday, April 3rd 7-9 pm at The Fish & Bone for information on ticks, the risks, and how to prevent them.

About Kathy Palmer

I grew up in NJ and Belgium and eventually settled in Portland, ME. Until missing the big city, which inspired a return to Boston in 2010, and the opening of Fish & Bone on Newbury Street. Fish & Bone and its original sibling store Fetch (est. 2000) bring together some of the things I love the most: animals, real food, great design, having an impact, the natural world, urban life, creative solutions, good community, and a good laugh. Zip is all pug, but I'm a cultural mutt.
