Mothers Day: I’m A Good Dog, and Newborn Puppies Book Signings

We’re honored to host two celebrated authors this weekend in both stores (Portland and Boston):  Sat. 5/11 in Portland, and Sun. 5/12 in Boston.  Both signings are from 1-3 pm.  All proceeds will go to MSPCA and Lilly’s Fund (Boston) and Buddy Up Animal Society (Portland).  And we’ll have special guest Lilly the Hero Pit Bull in Boston….come by to learn all about puppies and pit bulls, and pick up a book for Mom!

Ken Foster

Ken may be familiar to you as the author of  the memoir, “The Dogs Who Found Me,” and the collection, “Dogs I have Met.” His latest book, “I’m a Good Dog: Pit Bulls, America’s Most Beautiful (and Misunderstood) Pet,” is a gorgeously illustrated and tenderly written tribute to one of the most misunderstood of canine companions.  His work has appeared in Bark, Salon, McSweeney’s, The New York Times, Village Voice and Time Out New York.  In 2008, he founded The Sula Foundation, which promotes responsible Pit Bull ownership.

Traer Scott

Traer is a renowned photographer and author whose latest book is entitled “Newborn Puppies: Dogs in Their First Three Weeks.”  Her love of dogs shines through in intimate images of a range of breeds and types, from champion pups to shelter strays.  She has authored a number of other books as well, including “Wild Horses: Endangered Beauty” and “Shelter Dogs.”
